Juventus forward Francisco Conceicao has said he will assist his club in persuading Bernardo Silva to move to Turin if he leaves Manchester City this summer.
Silva’s importance to Pep Guardiola is conveyed in the fact that the Manchester City captain has featured in every Premier League game this season so far and has been pivotal for the Blues in their first full season under director of football Hugo Viana.
Since the turn of the year, the 31-year-old has submitted remarkable performances against Wolves, Tottenham and Liverpool – while most recently scoring against West Ham in a disappointing 1-1 draw at the London Stadium that has all but handed Arsenal the Premier League title.
However, having played nearly 450 games for Manchester City since joining forces with Guardiola from AS Monaco in 2017, a flurry of offers from across the globe has begged the question of what is next for Silva, who is expected to move on from England at the end of his contract this summer.
Juventus told to sign Manchester City’s Bernardo Silva as cheaper alternative to Sandro Tonali
The Portugal international’s current deal at the Etihad Stadium expires in June – yet there remains uncertainty over his immediate club future – with Galatasaray and Juventus amongst those strongly interested in the six-time Premier League winner.
Galatasaray have moved aggressively to steal Silva from their European competitors and recent reports have cited the Turkish giants are advancing in negotiations – with big-money incentives being laid out on the table.
It is understood Silva’s salary in Istanbul would exceed €15 million per year including bonuses and although that figure is high, Juventus are one of the clubs willing to match – or perhaps better – that number – with added help from winger Francisco Conceicao.
“I know Bernardo (Silva) very well,” Conceicao said in a recent interview with Sport Mediaset, as relayed by Sport Witness. “I know he’s strong but we haven’t talked about that (a potential move to Juventus).
“I don’t know if Juventus will want to buy him but if he asks me anything, I’ll tell him that Juventus is a great club and that we want to win here. Every team in the world would like to have Bernardo Silva.”
Silva has enjoyed a trophy-laden career at Manchester City, being at the bedrock of the club’s greatest-ever period under Guardiola and playing a monumental role in the domestic, European and global success the Blues have enjoyed since his arrival from France.

However, Silva’s soft skills will come equally as important over the season run-in as he looks to life himself – after being shown a red card against Real Madrid earlier this week – and a young Manchester City dressing room to forego a horror run of recent form and go again in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final against Arsenal at Wembley.
And despite his goal against West Ham in a 1-1 draw on Saturday – a beautifully-weighted lob over goalkeeper Mads Hermansen (albeit he didn’t mean it!) – it looks as though Manchester City’s hopes of a seventh league title in nine years have now all but dissipated.
Guardiola’s side sit nine points behind leaders Arsenal in the Premier League table – with as many games remaining to overcome such a deficit – and though every game is a final for the Blues between now and the end of the season, City’s face-off with the Gunners at the Etihad Stadium in April is highly likely to have huge implications on the title race.
