Tonight's Champions League final in Budapest won't be contested by Bayern Munich, but there still will be some German involvement.
That factor has prompted Germany's captain Joshua Kimmich to wish compatriot and Arsenal striker Kai Havertz the best of luck.
“I'm crossing the fingers for Kai that he joins us on the back of a success," he said of Havertz who is yet to join the 2026 World Cup squad.
"A title like that [Champions League] creates positive energy. He's an important player for us and is underrated in Germany.
“He was crucial at the Euros [in 2024] because he brings a fantastic all-around package that will help us,” the 31-year-old explained.
Havertz could pick up his second Champions League title after he scored the winner in Chelsea's 1-0 win over Manchester City in 2021.
