Ermedin Demirović has apologised to Stuttgart coach Sebastian Hoeneß for his reaction to being substituted during the 4-0 win over Hamburger SV. According to BuLi News, he moved quickly to apologise.

The forward was withdrawn in the 70th minute and showed visible frustration as he left the pitch. He had earlier seen a finish ruled out for offside, while four teammates found the net in the emphatic victory. Angelo Stiller, Chris Führich, Maximilian Mittelstädt and Bilal El Khannouss were on the scoresheet.

Hoeneß said he would have preferred the frustration to be kept out of public view, and stressed he was not angry with the striker.

Demirović accepted he had overreacted and described it as a mix of factors. “I’m not a troublemaker,” he said, explaining why he wanted to clear the air immediately.

He has 12 goals and four assists in 31 games in all competitions this season.
