Iñaki Williams ends league drought with first shot on target for Athletic

After four months without a league goal, Iñaki Williams levelled for Athletic at 1-1 at Vallecas moments after the restart.

His previous league strike came on 4 October, when he made it 2-1 against Mallorca at San Mamés. Since then he had been quiet in the domestic competition.

He had only found the net in the cup, with a 90th-minute goal in Valencia that took Athletic into the semi-finals.

The equaliser arrived from a direct move. Unai Simón launched long, Berenguer, back after six matches out, flicked on, and Williams finished with a deft chip. It was Athletic's first shot on target of the match.

Williams has a habit of scoring against Rayo, and he now has five goals in 14 meetings.
