Incoming Newcastle United boss targets Feyenoord’s Anis Hadj Moussa as statement signing | OneFootball

Newcastle United’s imminent manager Matthias Jaissle has a move for Feyenoord’s Anis Hadj Moussa in his sights as his first order of business.

The German manager, previously of Al Ahli, wanted to take him to the Saudi Pro League. However, the Algerian international wasn’t keen on the move.

Now, Jaissle is set to succeed Eddie Howe at Newcastle, who suddenly resigned from the Magpies’ hot seat on Friday. According to La Gazette du Fennec, he is said to have already informed his new club that he is determined to bring Hadj Moussa to St. James’ Park.

The skilful 24-year-old right-footer’s contract at De Kuip runs for another four years. Earlier this summer, Hadj Moussa was already linked to Newcastle, who are looking for a replacement for Anthony Gordon after he was sold to FC Barcelona for well over 80 million euros. The Magpies have more than enough funds, as playmaker Sandro Tonali also left, moving to Tottenham Hotspur for 115 million euros.

As VoetbalPrimeur explain, Rotterdam sources suggest that Feyenoord director Devy Rigaux must sell players before he can further strengthen his squad. Hadj Moussa is reportedly expected to fetch around 40 million euros.
