Injured Barcelona pair expected to return in time for Bayern & Real Madrid fixtures | OneFootball

Two members of the sidelined contingent at La Liga giants Barcelona are expected to return to fitness in time for a crucial pair of upcoming fixtures.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who point towards Dani Olmo and Fermín López as the players in question.

Midfielders Olmo and Fermín are of course unavailable for selection at present, owing to respective hamstring injuries.

As much has left boss Hansi Flick somewhat short on options in attacking midfield, opening the door for youngster Pablo Torre to play an increasingly prominent role of late.

The hope, though, has long been that at least one of Olmo and Fermín would return in time for Barcelona’s fixture list on the far side of the upcoming international break.

And, if the latest word stemming from the media on Thursday is anything to go by, then as much looks set to be the case.

As per a report from Sport, Barcelona’s sidelined engine room duo are both expected to be available for selection for the Blaugrana’s La Liga meeting with Sevilla on October 20th.

Crucially, this would mean Olmo and Fermín securing the necessary time to ramp up fitness, ahead of an ensuing pair of fixtures against Bayern Munich (Oct 23rd) and Real Madrid (Oct 26th).
