Senegal international Nicolas Jackson has taken to social media to share an update as he continues his recovery from a hamstring injury.
The Senegalese started the season strongly, and has nine Premier League goals to his name, but hasn’t scored since the win against Brentford on December 15th.
The 23-year-old was struggling and looked low on confidence before picking up an injury during the deadline win against West Ham.
Enzo Maresca didn’t expect Jackson to be out for long, and it came as a huge blow to the Blues when it was confirmed the striker would be out until April with an injury.
To compound matters Marc Guiu also picked up an injury in the same game leaving Chelsea with no senior striker in the squad.
However, Jackson has taken to Instagram to share an update of him in the gym at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground, and it appears his recovery is going well.
Jackson has shown signs of improvement this season, but he still needs to work on his finishing and a lack of another striker to learn from clearly isn’t helping him.
The Senegalese is expected back after the international break, meaning Chelsea have four more fixtures to navigate without their main striker.
Maresca has used Pedro Neto down the middle for the last two games with the Portugal international impressing, whilst exciting academy striker Shim Mheuka made his debut in the win against Southampton last month.
