One insider scout has claimed that Chelsea are considering a move to sign a 32-year-old goalkeeper this summer.
There is a lot going on around Chelsea right now in terms of transfer news – Noni Madueke looks set to join Arsenal very soon in a move to Chelsea’s close London rivals, and Christopher Nkunku could still end up leaving the club with Bayern Munich still very much monitoring his situation this summer.
For most Chelsea fans though, it is a new goalkeeper that should be the priority this summer and still what they need to address the most, with many believing that there is no way that the club can go into another season with Robert Sanchez as the number one stopper. That would be insanity.
Something is surely happening here, because there is never any smoke without fire, and Chelsea continue to be linked with new goalkeepers this summer.
Emi Martinez of Aston Villa is leaving his club this summer, and Chelsea have been linked with him on a few occasions in the last few weeks. There is surely something there at least, whether they end up signing him or not.

Mick Brown said in February that Chelsea plan to sign a new goalkeeper as Enzo Maresca is keen to upgrade on his current options.
The former scout, who apparently has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Manchester United, insisted the Blues are in a good position to beat United to Martinez’s signing.
“Man United can’t afford to sign Martinez while they still have Onana,” he told Football Insider.
“So that has limited their options massively because it looks like they’re struggling to sell.
“Martinez is a very good goalkeeper, and from what I hear there are a few clubs who have been made aware that he will be available this summer.
“One of those clubs is Chelsea, who have been looking to strengthen in that position.
“It’s different at Chelsea to Man United, because they’ve got about four goalkeepers but they can go and sign Martinez and worry about what to do with the rest afterwards.
“As things stand, I’d say they’re in a good position to get ahead of United for that deal.
“The door has been left open so it wouldn’t surprise me to see them make a move.
“United are very much in danger of missing the boat over this one. They’ve held talks but a Chelsea hijack is looking likely.”
