Inter and Roma exploring swap involving Davide Frattesi and Manu Kone | OneFootball

Serie A is no stranger to witnessing swap deals largely due to financial reasons and this has only increased in recent years. A move involving Inter and Roma is now being considered.

This could be mainly because of the Giallorossi and their need to earn capital gains before the end of June because of Financial Fairplay reasons.

Gazzetta dello Sport report that Manu Kone is Inter’s number one target this summer and he was the same last summer too. Alongside him, Evan Ndicka and Matias Soula are also candidates to leave but it is the Frenchman who is attracting most attention.

He is valued at €50 million right now and his sale can hand Roma a capital gain of €30 million. That is where Frattesi will come into play, as both clubs value him at €25 million and his involvement can reduce the cash Inter have to pay upfront for Kone. The total cost of the deal on Roma’s accounts would show up as €50 million, with the two deals going through as separate moves due to financial reasons.

This possibility is currently being considered by the two clubs and can come to fruition in the next few weeks.

Move can benefit all parties

Frattesi still has an affection for Roma, having come through their youth academy. He will probably have a point to prove, especially since he hasn’t quite played much this season. 

Kone was keen on Inter too last year, which makes his switch this year very important for him as well.

Financially, both clubs would solve their issues – particularly Roma. They might need more sales but for now, they will make progress in the right direction when it comes to FFP. Inter themselves can earn a capital gain and sign a replacement later in the window.
