Inter are going through an almost unprecedented crisis relative to their level of success in recent years, but it’s not expected to affect the future of Simone Inzaghi. They will stick with the coach no matter what, La Gazzetta dello Sport relays.
The gaffer has the full trust of the brass. He’ll stay on their bench and pen an extension even should they come up empty-handed after chasing the treble for three/fourths of the season. They have lost three matches in a row for the first time since hiring him.
Rather than from Inzaghi, Inter have been let down by their squad. The officials thought it was good and large enough to cope with the extra busy schedule. It has not been the case. A pair of pivotal absences have proven too much to overcome, as the deputies haven’t been up to snuff.
President Giuseppe Marotta weighed in to DAZN before the Roma clash (via SOSFanta).
“We have nothing to blame the coach and the lads for. We just have to compliment them for one of the toughest seasons in the last few years considering the intensity of the matches. For that, we thank them wholeheartedly. There’ll be some difficulties from here on out, but we can also have beautiful satisfactions.”
Despite the buzz that pops up here and there, they have always handled his contract in the summer, which helps them take stock more calmly, sidestepping the ups and downs of a season. It’d be a stunner if the relationship didn’t continue, but their late woes might impact the length and the figures of the new deal.
