Inter confident Palestra will provide advantage over Premier League | OneFootball

Although Atalanta want a €50m bidding war to break out, Inter seem confident Marco Palestra will give them the priority over the Premier League, and do a deal for just €45m.

Palestra flourished on loan at Cagliari this season, earning his first senior Italy caps and attracting interest from all over Europe.

La Dea are therefore ready to sell this summer, and are hoping for at least €50m with a bidding war likely to erupt between Manchester City, Arsenal, Newcastle United, Liverpool and more.

Palestra can attract big money

However, Inter have been tracking the Italian for a long time and believe that they can convince him to resist other opportunities in order to give them the advantage.

According to Sky Sport Italia, they are even confident that the deal can be done for just €45m, despite having seen their opening offer of €40m plus add-ons rejected.

It is reported that Palestra would prefer to remain in Serie A at this stage of his career, and believes that Inter are the right club for him to take the next step with regular playing time.

The presence of Federico Dimarco is also helpful, as Palestra and Dimarco are likely to be the core of the Italy squad going forward in the wing-back roles.

He would be the replacement for Denzel Dumfries, who underwent a medical with Real Madrid for the €20m release clause today.
