Inter in talks with Liverpool over Curtis Jones deal | OneFootball

As reported by TuttoMercatoWeb, Inter are keen on a move for Liverpool midfielder Curtis Jones.

The Nerazzurri have been keeping tabs on the 25-year-old for a while now. The Englishman, in turn, has been stalling talks with his boyhood club over a new contract, with his current one expiring next summer.

Inter and Liverpool are already in talks over a move, though Jones’ price tag is yet to be revealed. The imminent departure of Davide Frattesi may speed up the Serie A champions’ pursuit of the six-cap England international.

Versatility is key

English players taking a chance with a move to mainland Europe is commonplace now. What’s more, Curtis Jones need only look at ex-teammate Tyler Morton, who has been garnering plaudits aplenty during his debut season in France with Lyon.

Jones is a versatile midfield operator. Defensively shrewd and an excellent ball carrier, he can lie deep, play as a No. 8, and even occupy positions out wide. His versatility will be of particularly interest to Cristian Chivu, whose 3-5-2 setup will have several roles for Jones to take up not just in the centre, but also at either flank, where also Inter are anticipating wholesale changes.
