Inter Miami got their revenge against the Seattle after falling in the Leagues Cup Final, cruising past the Sounders in MLS play Tuesday evening.

It had been less than three weeks since the explosive final in Seattle ended in fisticuffs between the two teams, but the Herons have had the last laugh this evening.

To nobody's surprise, Leo Messi and Jordi Alba were the catalysts the Miami's two-goal advantage at half-time, assisting each other in the opening 40 minutes.

And while Ian Frey put Miami three goals to the good in the opening exchanges of the second-half, the Sounders found life past the hour mark, cutting the hosts' lead to two thanks to a well-worked team move.

And of course, it was Obed Vargas who looked to change the complexion of the evening, a player at the center of the chaos in Seattle 18 days ago.

Any hope a miraculous comeback was quelled when Miami regained control in the final 10 minutes as their veterans saw out the game in veteran fashion.

The win sees Messi and co. move to within eight points of top-spot in the Eastern Conference, though they still have three games in hand on most of their rivals.
