Friday's game marks the 2025 MLS Cup presented by Audi champions' fourth and final preseason test ahead of MLS is Back weekend.

Miami open their 2026 MLS season on Feb. 21 against LAFC at the legendary Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum (9:30 pm ET | Apple TV).

Miami have a 1W-1L-1D record to date in the Champions Tour, most recently playing to a 2-2 draw at Ecuadorian Serie A side Barcelona SC. 

Lionel Messi scored his first goal of the preseason at the Estadio Monumental Banco Pichincha, while blockbuster Designated Player signing Germán Berterame opened his account with the Herons.

Miami will wear their newly unveiled Presagio Kit for the first time during Friday's match at the Estadio Juan Ramón Loubriel.

Independiente del Valle

Independiente del Valle won the Ecuadorian Serie A in 2025, for just their second league title in club history. 

Los Negriazules have also enjoyed recent international success, twice lifting the Copa Sudamericana (2019, 2022) and reaching the 2016 Copa Libertadores final.
