Arsenal arrived at San Siro as the only side in this season’s Champions League with a 100% win ratio.

Furthermore, Mikel Arteta’s men sought revenge for last season’s 1-0 defeat at this venue.

Gabriel Jesus fired the hosts to a dream start, but Petar Sucic drew Inter level only eight minutes later.

“We played well, but we lacked concentration,” Zielinski said after the game. “And conceded three goals far too easily and weren’t sharp enough in finishing the chances we created.

“We definitely need to learn to win more second balls; at times, we were too passive, and that’s an area where we still have to improve.”

Inter’s quest to secure a second consecutive top-eight finish in the newly formatted league phase is now on the brink of collapse.

Indeed, the Serie A leaders have suffered three Champions League defeats in a row for the first time since 2011.

Therefore, they will have to beat Borussia Dortmund on the final matchday to even stand a chance of securing automatic last-16 qualification.

Meanwhile, they must focus on their upcoming league clash against Pisa.

“It’s a crucial match,” Zielinski claimed.

Furthermore, he urged his teammates not to take the top-flight newcomers lightly.

“We absolutely cannot underestimate the opponent because they’ve caused problems for many teams.

“After that, we can think about Dortmund, which is a game we must win to finish among the top eight.”
