Inter Milan legend Beppe Bergomi praised Petar Sucic after last night’s dominant 3-0 home victory over Fiorentina.
Speaking to Sky Sport via FCInterNews, he identified the 21-year-old as a perfect fit for Cristian Chivu’s system.
Petar Sucic returned to the starting lineup for the first time since Inter’s 2-1 home win over Sassuolo in early September.
Indeed, the Croatian midfielder took Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s place alongside Hakan Calhanoglu and Nicolo Barella.
Cristian Chivu’s decision to give him the nod over Piotr Zielinski proved spot-on.
In addition to netting a fantastic maiden goal in Serie A, the former Dinamo Zagreb starlet bossed the midfield.
Sucic and Calhanoglu were too hot to handle for Rolando Mandragora and Cher Ndour.
Furthermore, Sucic proved his talent by humiliating Pietro Comuzzo for the goal, making one of Italy’s most promising defenders look silly.
Therefore, he made a strong case for himself ahead of Sunday’s away clash against Hellas Verona.

“Considering how Inter’s midfielders are, all very technical, Sucic is perfect in that area of the pitch,” Bergomi stated.
“He has always performed better on the right, but against Fiorentina, he played his game on the left.
“Chivu was smart,” Bergomi added. “He understood the importance of the match and didn’t make many changes.
“He put the fastest center-back he has, Bisseck, to mark the toughest opponent, Kean. And he started Pio Esposito alongside Bonny.
“He waited for the game to develop in Inter’s favor. In the first half, Inter had two chances but played at a fairly measured pace.
“Perhaps they were wary of Fiorentina’s counterattacks, given their physical midfield.
“But in the second half, Inter accelerated, and De Gea made some key saves.
“Then, once the game was opened up, Sucic scored a gem of a goal, and the match sort of closed after that.”
