Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona target Jonathan Tah has confirmed that he will not extend his contract with Bayer Leverkusen.

The 28-year-old spoke to German outlet Suddeutschland Zeitung, via FCInterNews. He made clear that he will leave Leverkusen at the end of the season, and has several offers.

Tah has now been at Leverkusen for almost a decade.

The German joined the club in 2015. And he has become a vital player for them.

Tah is currently vice-captain of Leverkusen. And last season, he played an important role as the German club won their first Bundesliga title in their history.

Leverkusen also won the German Cup and reached the final of the Europa League with Tah marshalling their defense.

Tah has made over three hundred appearances for Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, the 28-year-old was a regular starter for Germany at the Euros this summer, as the hosts reached the quarterfinals of the competition where they went out to eventual winners Spain.

Inter, Bayern & Barcelona Target Tah: “I Won’t Extend With Leverkusen”

This summer, there were reports that Tah could leave Leverkusen.

However, the reigning German champions decided not to accept any of the offers that came in for the 28-year-old.

But Tah’s contract with his current club only runs until the end of next June. Therefore, the summer transfer window just gone represented the last real opportunity for Leverkusen to cash in.

And the player himself has confirmed that.

“My decision is clear,” Tah said. “For professional reasons, I will not extend my contract.”

“I still have a contract until 2025 and I’ll give everything for Leverkusen,” the German continued.

But he added, “My football career is short, and that’s why I’ve always wanted to focus on giving my best.”

And as far as links to Bayern and Barcelona, Tah said that “There have been other offers as well.”

Tah plays in a role that Inter are almost certain to make a signing in next summer, the centre of a back three where Stefan de Vrij and Francesco Acerbi are starting to age out of the team.

And the Nerazzurri’s propensity for big free transfer signings is certainly no secret.
