Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez sits behind Dusan Vlahovic and Lorenzo Lucca as having the third-costliest contract in Serie A this season.

This according to Italian outlet Calcio e Finanza. They add together both the transfer fee amortization costs and the gross wages of each player in Serie A for the current campaign’s set of accounts.

Inter Milan captain Lautaro Martinez signed a contract with the Nerazzurri last summer.

This made the Argentine Inter’s highest paid player. As well as one of the top earners in Serie A.

However, Martinez’s transfer fee when he joined Inter from Racing Club in 2018 was relatively low.

Lautaro Behind Vlahovic & Lucca As Most Expensive Contracts In 2025-26 Serie A

Martinez’s gross wages make of the vast majority of his cost to Inter. The Nerazzurri are recording costs of €17.6 million on the 28-year-old in this season’s set of accounts.

This is not enough to make Martinez’s contract the most expensive in Serie A, however.

That would be Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic. The Serb sets the Bianconeri back a whopping €41.7 million in terms of their 2025-26 balance sheet.

That is because of both Vlahovic’s high gross wages, and the fact that Juventus are still recording a significant chunk of the transfer fee that they paid for him in January of 2021.

Meanwhile, Napoli striker Lorenzo Lucca is actually narrowly ahead of Inter captain Martinez.

That is largely because of the Partenopei’s policy of recording a larger share of a transfer fee in amortization in the initial set of accounts immediately after a player signs, and a smaller share later.

Therefore, Napoli are recording €14 million as the amortization cost of Lucca this season.

Then, Calcio e Finanza note, Lucca’s gross wages cost Napoli €3.7 million this season. Therefore, his total cost is €17.7 million, just ahead of Martinez’s.
