Inter Milan’s squad are currently away for the international break.

Quite a few players have stayed behind to work with coach Cristian Chivu in training. However, the majority of the Nerazzurri’s senior players have received national team call-ups.

And quite a few Inter players have been among the goals over the break.

Of course, it is little surprise to see a player like Inter captain Lautaro Martinez finding the back of the net.

However, there have been other, less predictable names on the scoresheet as well.

Defender Alessandro Bastoni is one of five Inter players in Gennaro Gattuso’s first ever Italy squad.

And the 26-year-old marked his appearance in a World Cup qualifier against Estonia by scoring the fifth goal in a 5-0 win for the Azzurri.

Bastoni is not exactly a regular scorer. He scored just one goal for Inter last season, against Cagliari. The previous campaign, his strike against Roma had been his only one for Inter.

However, Bastoni did score Inter’s first goal of the current Serie A campaign.

Meanwhile, newly-signed Nerazzurri defender Manuel Akanji scored the opener for Switzerland in a 4-0 win over Kosovo.

Akanji did not score once for Manchester City last season. However, in the previous campaign he’d found the back of the net four times for the Cityzens.

Then, Denzel Dumfries is not as surprising of a name as Bastoni to find on the scoresheet. The Dutchman has established himself as one of the biggest goal threats for both club and country.

Therefore, Dumfries scored the opener for the Netherlands in a 1-1 draw with Poland.
