Benjamin Pavard left Inter Milan to join Marseille on a season-long loan in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
In his recent interview via FCInterNews, the Frenchman explained why he decided to return to France.
Marseille signed Benjamin Pavard on deadline day.
Indeed, the 30-year-old has joined the Ligue 1 outfit on loan with an option to buy.
Meanwhile, Les Olympiens have paid Inter a loan fee of €2.5 million.
Pavard left Bayern Munich in 2023 to link up with Inter Milan.
Despite carrying a stellar reputation, recurring injury problems curtailed his progress at San Siro.
However, he was on the verge of staying in Serie A, only for Marseille to lure him away on the final day.
Though he has been a first-team regular for France, Pavard only has one season in Ligue 1 behind him.
He departed Lille after just one top-flight campaign in 2016 to join Stuttgart before moving to Munich in 2019.

Immediately after offloading Pavard, Inter have signed Manuel Akanji from Manchester City on loan.
However, the international break prevented both players from making their debuts for new clubs.
Pavard could register his first appearance for Marseille this weekend when they meet Lorient at home.
“I’m very proud to join Olympique Marseille, such a prestigious club,” he said.
“I can’t wait to be at the Vélodrome on Friday and feel the fans’ passion.
“Indeed, I hope to experience great emotions here. I’ve already played at the Vélodrome with Lille, and the atmosphere was incredible.
“Marseille was the only club I had in mind. I only wanted Marseille. I had a good discussion with Medhi (Benatia). He’s been doing a great job for two years.
“There’s a quality squad here. I hope we can achieve great things together.
“I want us to play as a team. There’s an important match to win, then we’ll have time to think about the Champions League.”
