Lautaro Martinez and Marcus Thuram will spearhead Inter Milan’s quest to secure automatic UEFA Champions League Round-of-16 qualification.
According to Gazzetta dello Sport via FCInterNews, Simone Inzaghi will bring out heavy artillery in tonight’s clash against Sparta Prague.
There’s no room for calculations, with only four points separating the Nerazzurri from direct last-16 progression.
Indeed, Inzaghi has often rotated his squad in the newly formatted league phase this season.
Therefore, Martinez and Thuram haven’t had prominent roles in Inter’s Champions League campaign.
However, that’s about to change.
Now that the stakes are high, Inzaghi can no longer count on Mehdi Taremi and Marko Arnautovic.
He needs his best forwards to drag Inter over the finish line.
As such, Lautaro and Thuram will lead the line in Prague tonight as Inter seek an all-important three points.
Winning in the Czech Republic would put the Nerazzurri on the brink of a coveted top-eight finish.
Indeed, they’d only one point in the league-phase finale against French powerhouse Monaco at the San Siro.
However, dropping points tonight could complicate Inter’s top-eight charge.
Therefore, all eyes will be on the famous Thu-La partnership.
