Inter Milan president Beppe Marotta has hailed Oaktree Capital’s effort to bring the club back to the European elite.
Speaking to Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, Marotta addressed other hot topics, including the San Siro project.
“Stadium? Very soon, both clubs will present a proposal,” he claimed. “A city like Milan has the right to have a state-of-the-art stadium.
“Italian clubs have a significant gap compared to European teams.
“Our shareholders have been forward-thinking and are capable of making major investments.
“I hope that very soon, both clubs will be able to make a proposal to the Milan City Council.”
Meanwhile, he delivered his verdict on tonight’s Champions League clash against Feyenoord.
Inter Milan will soon take on the Dutch outfit in the first leg of their last-16 tie at De Kuip.
“This is the first leg of a 180-minute tie,” Marotta added.
“Of course, starting well today would be a good sign. Despite many absences, Simone Inzaghi has built a competitive team.”
“Despite the change in ownership, the presence of the new shareholder has made the transition smoother,” Marotta was adamant.
“It’s a constant yet discreet presence. The objectives achieved so far have been well deserved.

“We haven’t won anything yet, but we are in a good position.
“In recent years, we have gained the awareness that we can be protagonists in all competitions.
“Right now, I’m focused on the match. I, along with all of Inter, won’t settle for any specific goal.
“If others prove to be better than us, we will applaud them.”
Despite not spending big like other domestic rivals, Inter boast the most well-knit squad in Serie A.
That’s largely thanks to Beppe Marotta and his genius approach in the transfer market.
