Inter Milan have set a new record for consecutive away wins with clean sheets with their Serie A victory over Venezia.
This is highlighted by Italian outlet Calciomercato.com. They note that the last goal the Nerazzurri conceded away from home came against Udinese in September.
Inter beat Venezia in Serie A yesterday.
The Nerazzurri only scored one goal, however. Matteo Darmian found the back of the net in the first half.
Therefore, a clean sheet was vital for Inter to take the three points.
However, Inter have become used to keeping clean sheets away from home at this point.
As Calciomercato.com note, the last time Inter conceded in the league came against Parma.
Ironically enough, it was Matteo Darmian – the scorer of the winner yesterday – who turned into his own net, a late consolation goal for the Gialloblu.
That was more than a month ago, and at the San Siro.
But away from home, Inter’s run without conceding stretched back even further.
The last time that Yann Sommer picked the ball out of his own net in an away Serie A match was a 3-2 win against Udinese.
That means that Inter have kept a clean sheet and won in each of their last league away trips.
That is a club record for the Nerazzurri.
