Inter Milan midfielder Piotr Zielinski won’t be out long with injury, and could return against Young Boys or Juventus.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They anticipate a speedy return to action from the Pole.

Yesterday, tests with the Inter medical staff confirmed that Zielinski had suffered an injury during the international break.

The former Napoli and Empoli midfielder had started both of Poland’s matches during the break.

However, Zielinski had to limp off during the second half of a 3-3 Nations League draw with Poland.

The problem concerned Zielinski’s thigh.

And this naturally raised some concern that the 30-year-old could be out for some time for Inter upon returning from the international break.

And the medical tests yesterday did confirm that Zielisnki had suffered a thigh strain.

But according to the Gazzetta, the issue is only a very minor one. The tests allayed worry that there is any sort of significant injury for Zielinski.

Zielinski Hoping For Early Injury Return Vs Young Boys Or Juventus

Naturally, Zielinski will still be out for Sunday’s Serie A clash with Roma, Inter’s first match back from the international break.

The Polish international is not yet back in training.

However, the Gazzetta anticipates, a return may not be far away at all for Zielinski.

The Pole could be back as soon as Inter’s midweek match in the Champions League.

Inter travel to Switzerland to face Young Boys on Wednesday, in their third European match of the season.

And according to the Gazzetta, there is a chance of Zielinski already returning in time for that match. That could be a boost for Inter, particularly if coach Simone Inzaghi wants to rotate his team.

And if Zielinski is not back to face Young Boys, then the Gazzetta predict he’ll be back for the following match.

Inter take on Juventus in the Derby d’Italia next weekend.
