Three Inter Milan first-team stars delivered an emphatic performance as Italy returned to winning ways on Monday evening.

According to Corriere dello Sport, as reported by FCInterNews, Federico Dimarco was the joint-highest-rated Nerazzurri player in last night’s 4-1 UEFA Nations League victory.

In addition to Dimarco, Luciano Spalletti included Alessandro Bastoni and Davide Frattesi in his starting line-up at Udinese’s Blenergy Stadium.

Victory was imperative for Gli Azzurri following a frustrating 2-2 home draw against Belgium last Thursday.

And Spalletti’s team lived up to expectations.

Though it took them 40+ minutes to open the scoring, the Italians steamrolled to a precious home triumph after the break.

Much of the credit goes to Dimarco and Frattesi.

Indeed, the Inter duo combined to restore Italy’s two-goal cushion midway through the second half.

Despite failing to keep a clean sheet, Bastoni brought his A-game to the table in Udine.

Alongside Giovanni Di Lorenzo and Riccardo Calafiori, he commanded Italy’s defensive line with authority.

The report pinpointed the 25-year-old’s superb positioning and anticipation as he patched up all the leaks at the back.

However, Dimarco stole the spotlight.

Considered a ‘point of reference,’ the left-footed wingback was at the thick of every attacking maneuver.

Dimarco’s bursting runs down the flank and deadly crossing ability made him a nightmare for the opposition’s defense.

Though he only had one assist to his name, he looked unplayable.

As for Frattesi, he cannot stop scoring.

Last night’s goal was his third in four Nations League fixtures this autumn, testifying to his lethal goalscoring sense.

But there was much more than met the eye.

Frattesi was everywhere. His energy and endless work rate positioned him as Italy’s most productive midfielder.

The trio gave Simone Inzaghi every reason for optimism ahead of the upcoming Serie A game against Roma.
