Serie A will postpone Saturday’s showdown between Inter and Roma to accommodate the funeral of Pope Francis.
According to ANSA via FCInterNews, Nello Musumeci, Minister for Civil Protection, has announced this decision.
Pope Francis tragically passed away on Easter Monday.
As a result, Serie A postponed all four Monday fixtures, rescheduling them for Wednesday.
League officials are now adjusting the weekend schedule to honor the national mourning period.
Indeed, government sources say the Council of Ministers declared five days of national mourning for Pope Francis’ passing.
