France’s rotated side closed their United States tour with a 3-1 win over Colombia in Landover, three days after beating Brazil 2-1, and outlets abroad are tipping them for the World Cup.

Marca said France showed they are a strong contender. Mundo Deportivo noted they dominated despite being without Kylian Mbappé, Ousmane Dembélé and Michael Olise, against a Colombia starting XI featuring James Rodriguez and Luis Diaz.

Seneweb placed the Bleus among June’s title favourites, with Senegal set to be their first opponents in June 2026.

RTBF argued the 2-1 and 3-1 victories underlined a shift towards attack, with Didier Deschamps selecting four forwards and encouraging constant positional interchanges that troubled Brazil and Colombia.

Désiré Doué, scorer of two against Colombia, drew particular praise. VG in Norway highlighted his impact, while commentator Vegard Aulstad lauded his finishing. ESPN said his brace helped France beat Colombia in style.

La Nacion said France also intimidate with their understudies, praising collective work, a blend of positional play and countering, and standouts N’Golo Kanté, Warren Zaïre-Emery and Rayan Cherki. AS highlighted defensive assurance and counter-threat, rating France favourites for power and individual quality, even without Mbappé.
