Kojo Peprah Oppong (21) is yet to earn his first call-up to the Ghana national team, however, that looks set to change, as his OGC Nice teammate, Salis Abdul Samed (25), revealed in a roundtable interview attended by Get French Football News.

Oppong, following his move from Swedish side Norrkoping over the summer, has settled quickly at Nice and has featured prominently in the opening weeks of the season, featuring in all of Le Gym’s games so far.

Whilst he is yet to represent Ghana, he is a player that Abdul Samed already knew prior to his move to the club this summer. “I knew him (as he played for Ghana’s U19s). He is a hard worker. The national team manager watched him a bit in the last match and he asked me about him. I said that he was a good guy who could help us and that he was strong defensively,” said Abdul Samed.

Asked if Oppong could get a call-up for the next international break, the Nice midfielder responded, “I hope so. That’s what the manager was saying, for the next international break, so we’ll see if he’ll be called up.”
