Simone Inzaghi is counting on Lautaro Martinez’s return after Inter Milan’s Serie A title bottle job against Lazio.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews.
Inter Milan had a deeply frustrating and disappointing evening in Serie A yesterday.
The Nerazzurri had been counting on Parma to take points off of Napoli. And that is exactly what the Emilian team did, grinding out a 0-0 draw against the league leaders.
However, Inter were unable to take advantage. They twice had the lead against Lazio, and twice gave it up.

Obviously, a big part of the problem for Inter was carelessness in defense.
After all, the Nerazzurri did concede two equalizers.
However, there was a feeling that Inter should have done more to simply put the match out of reach for Lazio, who never really had reason to lose hope of getting a result.
Part of the problem was that Inter captain Lautaro Martinez was not on the pitch.
Without the Argentine, there is simply a lack of a reliable goalscoring outlet in the Inter lineup.
Marcus Thuram was not at his best, while Mehdi Taremi had little impact in the penalty area.
Then, substitute Marko Arnautovic spurned an absolutely glorious chance to win the match late on.
