Simone Inzaghi feels that there are three reasons why Inter Milan sit top of the Serie A table after their dramatic comeback win over Monza.

The Nerazzurri coach spoke to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews, after the final whistle.

Inter Milan strengthened their place at the top of the Serie A table this evening.

At least until Napoli play against Fiorentina tomorrow, the Nerazzurri are now four points clear at the top.

It didn’t look as though that was going to be the case just before halftime this evening at the San Siro. Monza took a shock 2-0 lead via a spectacular effort by former Inter forward Keita Balde.

But then, Inter responded just a couple minutes later. Striker Marko Aranautovic headed in a goal to put the momentum back in the home side’s favour.

In the second half, goals from Hakan Calhanoglu and an own goal by Giorgios Kyriakopoulos saw Inter fight back to take all three points.

The Nerazzurri have put the pressure right back on the likes of Napoli, Atalanta, and Juventus.

Inter Milan coach Simone Inzaghi listed three reasons why Inter Milan are where they are right now in Serie A: “Consistency, goals scored, and our objective.”

“We don’t watch, but we just think one match at a time,” he continued.

“And the concentration of these guys, who despite having been together for three and a half years, have never played 41 matches already at the start of Match.”

Inzaghi said that “We’re up there.”

“We owe it to the fans who have supported us. We want to give everything for these colours.”

“Then, we don’t know how it will end,” added the Inter coach.

Meanwhile, the Inter coach said of the team’s ambitions to fight for every trophy available this season that “We have to make the fans happy by honouring all our commitments.”

“That’s not easy,” he admitted. “We’re struggling. But these guys have great spirit.”

“We don’t want to look at the tables,” Inzaghi added. “But at the fact that in two and a half days we’ll be right back on the pitch against Feyenoord.”

Inter take on Feyenoord in the second leg of their Champions League round of sixteen tie on Tuesday. The Nerazzurri take a 2-0 advantage from the first leg.

Meanwhile, the Dutch side have managed to get their league match from this weekend postponed, in order to give them more time to rest up for that second leg.

Inter coach Inzaghi admitted that he feels “That’s definitely a highly unusual thing.”

“But the rules are the rules,” he added. “And so they did well.”
