The Tractor Boys experienced a slow start to the 2025/26 campaign, failing to win any of their first four league matches.

However, they have kicked on ever since and have picked up points in eight of their nine previous matches. A recent triumph over league leaders Coventry City was perhaps their most impressive win yet and sparked hopes of a potential title bid.

With promotion still the Tractor Boys’ ultimate goal, Football League World has taken a look at all the recent transfer news currently surrounding Ipswich.

Monitoring move for Antonios Papadopoulos

Ipswich Town are reportedly rivalling Stoke City in the race for Antonios Papadopoulos.

The defender has attracted interest from the two Championship sides after impressing for Swiss outfit Lugano this term.

Papadopoulos spent the previous three years with Borussia Dortmund, where he made two Champions League appearances.

The 26-year-old is a centre-back by trade, but can also operate out of the midfield, which would be a useful asset for the Tractor Boys and is listed as one of the reasons why Kieran McKenna’s side are interested in a deal.

Trialist Kian Berry not offered contract

The young attacker had impressed a number of EFL clubs, with the Tractor Boys willing to give him an opportunity to impress firsthand.

However, McKenna and Co. ultimately decided against signing him permanently.

Berry was part of an U18s side that were battered 5-0 by West Ham United and wasn’t kept on by Ipswich after that contest, returning to Slough Town instead.

Glen Kamara would only cost £2.6m

Ipswich Town are reportedly part of a pack of EFL sides looking to sign former Leeds United man Glen Kamara.

The 30-year-old has played just 24 minutes for French outfit Rennes this term and reports suggest that they would be willing to part ways with him in January.

A price of £2.6m has emerged as what Rennes would be willing to accept for Kamara’s services, which is a lot less than the £8.4m he was signed for.

West Brom and Leicester City have both been named as clubs that would pursue a deal for Kamara, which means that Ipswich would be facing competition from within their own division.

The Finland international was part of the Leeds United side that reached the Championship play-off final in 2024 and was comfortably one of the competition’s best midfield operators throughout that term.
