Ipswich Town claimed East Anglian bragging rights in style with a commanding 3-1 victory over rivals Norwich City at Portman Road.

The Tractor Boys looked the sharper side from the off, enjoying the better of possession (53%) and peppering the Norwich goal with 17 attempts, eight of them on target. Their early pressure paid off in the 32nd minute when Cédric Kipré fired home from close range after a well-worked corner routine.

But Ipswich weren’t to be denied. As the first half drew to a close, Jaden Philogene produced a moment of magic, curling a left-footed effort into the top corner from outside the box to restore the hosts’ lead and send the home fans into raptures.

The second half saw Norwich push forward in search of an equaliser, but Ipswich remained composed and organised, biding their time. Their patience was rewarded in the 77th minute when Jack Clarke sealed the points with a cool finish from the centre of the area - a goal that perfectly summed up Ipswich’s cutting edge on the day.

The result sees Kieran McKenna's side climb to ninth in the table, while the Canaries will stay19th in the table, two points above relegation zone.
