Reports claim Atletico Madrid are considering loan offer for Egyptian forward Omar Marmoush but club officials deny any confirmed approach.

Atletico Madrid interest reported

Media reports have suggested that Atletico Madrid are monitoring Omar Marmoush during the current winter transfer window as the Spanish club look for striker who can make the difference in big matches.

According to Fichajes, the La Liga side have placed the Egyptian international high on their shortlist and are studying the possibility of bringing him in on loan with option to buy.

The report comes while Marmoush continues to struggle for regular playing time at Manchester City under Pep Guardiola.

Proposed deal and possible price tag

The same reports claim Atletico could offer loan deal that includes permanent purchase option worth €55 million, with additional €15 million in bonuses.

These figures are close to what City reportedly paid to sign Marmoush last season, with some outlets stating Premier League champions invested around €75 million in the Egyptian attacker.

Despite the high price, Marmoush has not yet become consistent starter which has opened the door to speculation about temporary move in search of more minutes.

Atletico official responds

However Atletico Madrid have played down the rumours. Spanish radio station COPE reported the offer but Juan Jose Anaut, Atletico’s deputy director of communications said the club has no confirmed information about any active pursuit.

In comments to Erem News, Anaut stated that Atletico have not been informed of any official move to sign Marmoush during the current transfer period suggesting that talks may not be as advanced as claimed.

Tottenham also monitoring situation

Several English reports have also linked Tottenham Hotspur with interest in Marmoush describing him as priority target ahead of the January window.

Despite the speculation, the player is believed to prefer staying at Man City and fighting for his place rather than leaving midway through the season.

Marmoush’s Role at City

Marmoush remains one of Egypt’s key attacking talents but his first season at City has been challenging due to competition for places in Guardiola’s squad.

A loan move could offer him the chance to play regularly at high level especially with major international commitments ahead.
