In a surprising turn of events, Nicolas Jackson's future at Bayern Munich appears to be in doubt. Despite his loan spell initially seeming like a potential long-term fit, the Senegalese international is now expected to depart the German champions this summer.
According to insider reports, Bayern Munich has decided against activating the permanent purchase option for the 24-year-old striker. The club's hierarchy is instead prioritizing the search for a different profile to serve as the primary backup for their star striker, Harry Kane.
Jackson, whose contract with Chelsea runs until 2033, is currently on loan with Bayern until June 2026. Making his move permanent would have required the Bavarian giants to trigger a release clause believed to be set at €65 million, a significant financial commitment for a player who was also required to meet a specific number of starting appearances.
