There were several of Manchester City’s stars in action for their countries overnight. Kevin De Bruyne, Jeremy Doku and Erling Haaland were all in action for Belgium and Norway respectively. Here is a brief look at how they all performed in their UEFA Nations League fixtures last night.

France 2 Belgium 0.

Jeremy Doku and Kevin De Bruyne both started for Belgium in their 2-nil defeat to France overnight. Belgium dominated possession but were ultimately outclassed by a star-studded French outfit. Goals from Randal Kolo Muani and Ousmane Dembele were enough for France to pick up the victory.

Kevin De Bruyne got through the full 90 minutes and was easily Belgium’s best player on the night. He was at the heart of the majority of Belgium’s good play and dictated the play for the Belgians. Jeremy Doku got through 83 minutes before being substituted.

Both players will now return to Manchester to begin preparations for City’s Premier League clash with Brentford this Saturday.

Norway 2 Austria 1.

Erling Haaland was on the score sheet for Norway in the 2-1 win over Austria. It was a much-needed win for Norway following their surprise nil-all draw with Kazakhstan in their opening UEFA Nations League fixture last week.

Norway took a 9th-minute lead through Felix Myhre to open proceedings. Austria would equalise through Marcel Sabitzer in the 37th minute. The game was a tightly contested affair before Erling Haaland made a match-winning contribution in the 80th minute.

City’s star striker calmly collected a long ball in the box and expertly finished the move to give his team a valuable victory. Haaland’s goal continues his strong start the 24/25 season. He will be hoping to bring that from into Manchester City’s clash with Brentford at the Etihad this Saturday.
