In his column with Corriere dello Sport, Alberto Polverosi frames Inter-Napoli as a night of “point or counterpoint”.

Either Inter stretching seven points clear at the top or Napoli dragging themselves back to within touching distance.

Yet, on the eve of the showdown, the balance appears to tilt decisively towards Cristian Chivu’s side.

The first factor highlighted is momentum. Inter arrive on a six-game winning streak and have surged from fourth place to the summit since the derby defeat earlier in the season.

In that span, they have overhauled Roma and pulled clear of both Milan and Napoli.

The numbers reinforce the trend: Inter now boast 40 league goals, the best attack in Serie A, while Napoli trail by a dozen.

The second advantage lies in squad availability.

Inter’s injury list is short, limited to Dumfries and Darmian.

Napoli, by contrast, are missing several pillars, including Anguissa, De Bruyne, Lukaku and Neres, alongside key rotation options.
