Davide Frattesi is a player whose future at Inter Milan has been the subject of a lot of speculation.

The Italian international has never established himself as a regular starter for the Nerazzurri since joining from Sassuolo two years ago.

Therefore, reports indicate that behind the scenes, Frattesi has grown unhappy.

The 25-year-old wants to be at a club where he will be a first-choice starter. Therefore, he reportedly was keen to leave in the January transfer window.

Roma had shown a strong interest in Frattesi’s signature. Meanwhile, Napoli reportedly see the Italian international as a major target.

Over the second half of the season, Frattesi has not established himself as a starter for Inter.

However, it would be fair to say that the ex-Sassuolo man has well and truly cemented himself as a super sub.

Frattesi has always had a penchant for scoring important goals. For Inter, these have tended to come off the bench.

Late goals against the likes of Hellas Verona and Udinese last season played a big role in Inter’s Serie A title triumph.

And this time around, it has been in Europe that Frattesi has really shone.

The 25-year-old scored against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarterfinals. Then, in the semifinals he scored an even more important goal against Barcelona, the winner in extra time.

These goals have demonstrated Frattesi’s value to Inter. And for the player, they have shown that even if he struggles to start regularly, he will have an important part to play in the fight for the biggest trophies.

Therefore, there is a real chance that these goals have been decisive in keeping Frattesi at Inter this summer.
