“It’s hard to take,” Robbie admitted. “We shouldn’t really be leaving here with nothing, but that’s football, man.” A stunning free kick was the difference, and Lyle made no excuses. “You can’t argue with that. That free kick reminded me a bit like Declan Rice’s one against Real Madrid. I mean, unstoppable.”

Despite the loss, Robbie came away with optimism. “I think we’ve shown today we got a good squad. Maybe we could have been a bit more attacking, but I think that will come once Eze’s bedded in a bit more.”

He closed with a measured take on the bigger picture. “It’s too early in the season. They’ve got nine points, we’ve got six. We just got to lick our wounds, but I think there’s a lot of positives for us to hold on to going forward.”
