Ivana Fuso hails midfield, urges Corinthians focus after rout

After the 11-0 thrashing of Always Ready in the second round of the Women's Libertadores group stage, attacking midfielder Ivana Fuso celebrated Corinthians' collective performance and positively assessed her own development on the field.

The player highlighted that she has been feeling increasingly confident and in better game rhythm, a factor that, according to her, has been decisive for her chemistry with her midfield teammates.

“I feel good. I think I’m gaining more and more game rhythm every day, mainly because it’s more obvious. Day, Andressa, and I did a good job in the midfield. They didn’t have many chances either, but that’s our job and I think we did a good job today,” said Ivana in the mixed zone after the match.

The midfielder also commented on the competitive atmosphere of the Libertadores and the importance of staying focused in every match. She recalled the draw in the opening game, emphasizing how the tournament demands maximum attention until the final whistle.

“In the first game we drew, it was a game in the last minutes, chaos. Here the girls say anything can happen, so we have to be prepared for any situation,” she said.

With this result, the team leads Group A, with four points from two games and a goal difference of 11, which is exactly what separates Timão from Independiente Del Valle of Ecuador, who also have four points but a goal difference of just one.

After facing Always Ready, the Brabas will play again in the Libertadores next Wednesday, the 8th, when they face Independiente Santa Fe-COL at Estadio Florencio Sola, in Banfield, at 8 p.m.
