Jack Grealish says that he loves Manchester City “more than anything” amid speculation that his future could lie elsewhere.
The winger may be the club’s record signing, moving from Aston Villa in a £100 million transfer in 2021, but he is expected to leave this summer after falling out of favour with Pep Guardiola.
The City manager relied on Grealish less and less as the 2024/25 campaign wore on, handing him just seven starts in the Premier League, and left him on the bench for the final day win over Fulham and the FA Cup final defeat to Crystal Palace.
The 29-year-old was also omitted from the City squad that travelled to the United States for the FIFA Club World Cup, fuelling talk of an impending exit. He has since been linked with moves to Everton, Newcastle United, Spurs and Napoli.
Despite this, Grealish maintained that he still loves the club and its fans when filmed by an onlooker at the Oasis concert at Heaton Park in Manchester on 11 July.
“I love City more than anything,” he declared. “And do you know what I love more than anything? City fans. They’re the best fans in the world!”
Guardiola, who was also at the gig, addressed Grealish’s situation back in May.
“Jack is an unbelievable player that has to play football every three days,” he said. “And it didn’t happen this season, and last season neither. And he needs to do it with us, or another place.
“But that is a question for Jack, his agent, and the club. If he stays, we’ll be fine, and he’ll fight like he fought since day one to make a contribution.”
