Jadon Sancho is reportedly prepared to accept a significant wage reduction in order to secure a permanent move back to Borussia Dortmund.

According to BILD, the Manchester United winger has indicated to Dortmund officials Lars Ricken and Sebastian Kehl that he would be open to earning around half of his current salary - approximately €8 million per year - to rejoin the Bundesliga club.

The 25-year-old spent last season on loan at Chelsea, but did rejoin Dortmund for the second half of the 2023/24 campaign, where he made a positive impact, including during the club’s run to the UEFA Champions League final.

While no permanent transfer has been agreed yet, Sancho’s willingness to lower his wage demands could facilitate negotiations between the two clubs.

Borussia Dortmund are understood to be keen on bringing Sancho back permanently, but have been mindful of both transfer and salary costs. A reduced wage package would make a potential deal more financially viable for the German side.

Sancho joined Manchester United in 2021 for €85 million but struggled to consistently deliver in the Premier League.
