Palmeiras left-back Jefté has started rehabilitation following surgery on his right knee. The club have not set a timetable, with the expectation that any return will come late in the season.
According to Globo.com, he twisted the knee in the 1-0 win over Chapecoense on 31 May, tests then revealed a meniscus injury and he underwent surgery on 7 June.
The procedure involved a suture that is considered positive for the player, but it requires a cautious recovery.
For at least one month he will focus solely on physiotherapy at the Núcleo de Saúde e Performance. Palmeiras have released footage of the left-back working at the facility.
During the World Cup break, Vitor Roque is also following the programme, while Benedetti is in work at the Academia de Futebol after an ankle sprain with ligament complications sustained on 13 May against Jacuipense.
Benedetti has been cleared and was named in the squad to face Chapecoense, with strengthening work ongoing to prevent further issues.
The week after his injury, Jefté spent time with family for the birth of his son while still in pain. It is his second setback this season, after a thigh problem in April sidelined him for about 20 days.
