Andrée Jeglertz has hailed Lauren Hemp’s consistent impact for City in the wake of our 4-0 win over Sheffield United in the Adobe Women’s FA Cup.
The England international scored twice in the professional success over the Blades which booked our place in the historic competition’s quarter-finals.
She opened the scoring in the seventh minute at the Joie Stadium when tucking home a pinpoint Iman Beney cross before the duo combined four minutes later for Hemp to dispatch her second from close range.
It means she’s scored two and registered three assists in her past four outings in all competitions for City and raises her overall goal contributions this term to 11 in 2025/26 so far.
And Jeglertz has paid tribute to Hemp and our wide options following the superb victory over the WSL2 outfit.
“I’m so happy for her [Hemp] because she’s on such a good level,” he declared.

“She’s performing well for us ever since she came back from injury. She’s a very important player for us and I’m very happy she’s scoring because it’s always a thing for a player.
“But it’s also how she’s performing which is very good.
“We have great players who play on the wings. Iman [Beney] is coming in and doing it in a very good way.
“Her and Aoba [Fujino] and Leila [Ouahabi] and Laura [Coombs’] cooperation during the whole game is fantastic. That’s definitely [something] we’re using and we thought that was going to be an option, yeah.”
City’s meeting with Sheffield United represented our final match before the international break and our last outing until we travel to Aston Villa on Sunday 15 March.

This will see a swathe of Blues players join up with their national teams for World Cup qualifiers, the Asia Cup, the SheBelieves Cup and friendlies across the next 14 days.
For Jeglertz, he says the pause provides a period of reflection for him and his staff.
He added: “For us coaches we’ll have an evaluation on where we are at the moment and also for those players who aren’t going away to have some great training sessions.
“More individual focus for those players and preparing for Aston Villa. Also having a couple of days off for the players who are home.”
