Andrée Jeglertz says City’s season-long belief that we’re capable of winning the WSL title has been crucial in helping us become champions.
The Blues have sat top of the table since early November, but the title was sealed with a game to spare after Arsenal’s draw with Brighton & Hove Albion.
In doing so, Jeglertz becomes only the second manager in WSL history to win the title in his debut season at the helm.
And the Swede insists that, while there’ve been plenty of twists and turns across the campaign, the squad have been confident we can achieve top spot all season.
He said: “There’s never been doubt about the talent in the group but there is something else about talking about being winners and champions.
“We started that early and we believed in that. That’s led us through this year.
“It hasn’t been easy, it’s been hard work every day but we had a strong belief that we could be sitting here in May and be champions.
“That is the first thing, and we definitely deserve it.”

Jeglertz also stressed that, while he and the players would deservedly celebrate a special moment in our history, he’s excited by what the future holds.
City are in an FA Cup semi-final against Chelsea at the weekend, with a return to UEFA Champions League football also to follow in 2026/27.
And the Swede admits he already has one eye on what we can still achieve this season and beyond.
“I’m a little bit of a boring person like that,” he joked.
“When you reach something, you start thinking how can we do in training in two days? But that’s part of who I am also.
“I’m coming back to the quality in the group and what the fans are giving us and what the club is giving us the possibility to do.
“We have shown we can win, but now it’s the next step. What is the next step? There are no limits for this group, we can reach more.”
