Jeremy Monga’s Leicester City future remains uncertain as Premier League champions Arsenal reportedly pursue a summer deal, and Emile Heskey has urged the teenager to prioritise regular football.
The forward has surged through the academy over the past 14 months, becoming the second-youngest Premier League player under Ruud van Nistelrooy and a regular squad member last season.
Still only 16, the left winger made 30 appearances in all competitions, with 10 starts, and scored one goal. With City now in League One, top-flight sides are expected to circle.
Arsenal are said to be exploring a £10m to £15m move. His professional contract is scheduled to begin on 10 July, creating a grey area over the finances, although the scheduled terms mean the Gunners currently face paying a fee.
"It's very tough for a young kid when clubs like that come calling. As a young player, you always think you're confident enough to deal with anything, but it's not easy," he told Grosvenor Sport.
"He's 17 this summer, so that means he is going to be on a second year scholarship. Really, he should be concentrating on that and getting some actual football under his belt."
"If he goes to United, is he going straight into their first team? If he goes to Arsenal, is he going to play for sure? No. These kids honestly need first team football."
