Jesse Lingard could make his Corinthians debut on Wednesday at Fluminense in Rio de Janeiro.

According to Meu Timao, the Englishman has been tested with the first XI. If coach Dorival Júnior selects the No 77, he would line up alongside Yuri Alberto, forming another new attacking partnership in 2026.

After a lengthy wait since his unveiling, he was registered on the CBF's BID last week, clearing him to make his debut.

Presented on 6 March, he has trained with the squad, but had been awaiting a work visa to regularise his contract and be registered for 2026 competitions.

He arrives after two seasons with FC Seoul in South Korea, making 66 appearances with 19 goals and 10 assists. His last match came in December 2025.

A Manchester United academy graduate, he plays as a midfielder and can operate centrally or wide. For United he made 235 appearances, scored 35 goals and provided 21 assists, winning the UEFA Europa League, FA Cup, EFL Cup and FA Community Shield. He also had loans at Leicester City, Birmingham City, Brighton & Hove Albion, Derby County and West Ham United, and later joined Nottingham Forest permanently.

He has signed until the end of 2026, with an automatic renewal clause to the end of 2027 if targets are met.
