Jesse Lingard has visited Corinthians’ Memorial at Parque São Jorge as the club’s new signing begins his integration, following Friday’s announcement of his arrival.

According to Meu Timao, the English attacking midfielder toured the collection with club historian Fernando Wanner to learn more about the club’s history.

Opened on 27 January 2006, the Memorial in Tatuapé, east São Paulo, houses documents, newspapers, books, photographs, paintings, pennants, kits, equipment, busts, sculptures, trophies and medals.

Covering about 1,500 square metres, it is split into nine exhibition areas and includes an auditorium for roughly 70 people used for events and talks.

During Lingard’s visit the club also sounded its traditional siren, used to herald major signings since 1968 and popularised by arrivals such as Paulo Borges, Carlos Tévez, Ronaldo Fenômeno and, more recently, Memphis Depay.

Lingard has signed until the end of 2026, with an automatic extension to 2027 if performance targets are met, and he will wear number 77, a notable number in the club’s history.

He is not yet cleared to debut, with Corinthians awaiting documentation to register him in the Confederação Brasileira de Futebol’s Boletim Informativo Diário, the BID. As a result, he cannot be selected for Wednesday’s meeting with Coritiba at 21:30 at the Neo Química Arena, in the fifth round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
