Joao Cancelo made European football history on Sunday as Barcelona's 2-0 Clasico win over Real Madrid secured their 2025-2026 La Liga crown, the club's 29th, and confirmed the 31-year-old as the first player to win four of Europe's five major leagues.

The Portugal international, who has 66 caps and 12 goals, marked the feat in an Instagram story later that night. The player said in a post that "Bisous à mes haters".

His honours already included Serie A with Juventus in 2018-2019, Premier League titles with Manchester City, and the 2022-2023 Bundesliga while on loan at Bayern Munich.

He also won a fifth European league, the Liga Portugal with Benfica in 2013-2014.

Loaned this winter by Saudi club Al Hilal to Barcelona, the full-back played 20 matches in the second half of the campaign, scoring one and supplying five assists.
