John Stones: Juventus make initial contact for ex-Manchester City player | OneFootball

Serie A side Juventus have already sealed a free transfer in the signing of Zeki Celik but aren’t prepared to stop, with interest emerging in John Stones.

The centre-back played at the World Cup for England and surprisingly, did quite well when called upon by Thomas Tuchel.

Gianluca Di Marzio has now reported that he has now attracted from Juve, who see Stones as the ideal way to bolster their backline.

They have made initial contact with his entourage to possible assess the feasibility of the move and if possible, beat competition for his signature too. Inter Milan have been interested and clubs in England have also been linked with the defender. But none of them have made a move, so far.

Later in the window, the Juve backline might need changes, as the futures of Bremer and Lloyd Kelly remain uncertain. Stones would be the perfect option as he would add experience, title-winning credentials and a ball-playing ability that is probably better than the duo.
