John Stones signs for Inter Milan on a free transfer | OneFootball

Inter Milan have confirmed the signing of England international John Stones on a free transfer following the expiry of his Manchester City contract.

The 32-year-old has signed a two-year deal with the Serie A champions, keeping him at the San Siro until June 2028 after bringing an end to his successful 10-year spell at the Etihad Stadium.

Stones leaves City as one of the club's most decorated players, having made 295 appearances since arriving from Everton in 2016. During his time in Manchester, he won six Premier League titles, three FA Cups, three League Cups, the Champions League and the Club World Cup, playing a key role in Pep Guardiola's dominant side.

The experienced centre-back attracted interest from several clubs across Europe after becoming a free agent, but Inter won the race for his signature as they look to defend their Serie A title.

Stones also remains an important figure for England and featured at this summer's World Cup, helping the Three Lions secure a third-place finish.

Inter will hope his experience at the highest level strengthens their defence as they prepare for another campaign competing for domestic honours and a deep run in the Champions League.
